Not all Focusrite Dante Devices come with DVS (Dante Virtual Soundcard) the following products do not come with DVS:
RedNet PCIe Card, RedNet PCIeR Card, RedNet PCIeNX, RedNet R1, RedNet 5 and RedNet HD32R
These products are designed to integrate your Dante network either directly into your computer or they are designed to work with another device to bridge your Dante network into your computer.
If you have a Focusrite Dante product that comes bundled with Dante Virtual Soundcard you first need to register the unit on our website.
After registering, your Dante Virtual Soundcard license will be available after clicking the "My Software" button at the top of your account page.
Either scroll down to find Dante Virtual Soundcard or select 'Utility' to find DVS (Dante Virtual Soundcard). Select View Details to view your DVS code.
Then click the 'show me my code' button above to reveal your code for DVS and then Copy your code.
Click the link to the Audinate site and create a free Audinate account. When prompted, enter the Dante Virtual Soundcard token from your Focusrite account to add DVS to your Audinate account.
This will generate the Audinate Activation Code you will use to activate Dante Virtual Soundcard. (Shown under “License ID” see screenshot below).
Then, open up Dante Virtual Soundcard. Under the Licensing tab, enter this license ID and click Activate.
You have now activated Dante Virtual Soundcard.
To get started with DVS, open it and go to the Settings tab (Screenshot below). Here you can select the number of available audio channels, Dante latency, and your network interface. The network interface represents which Ethernet port you will be using if your computer has more than one.
On Windows systems, you will have the option to use DVS in ASIO or WDM mode.
Click ‘Start’ to start DVS. Then, you will be able to select DVS as your default playback device.
Mac: System Preferences > Sound > Output > Select DVS as the device
