RedNet MP8R features ‘gain compensation’ on each of the inputs. Each input feeds two channels accessible from the network.
Transmitter Channels 1-8 – the ‘standard’ feed from the inputs.
Transmitter Channels 9-16 – the ‘compensated’ feed from inputs 1-8.
If the gain setting for input 1 is altered midway through a performance then the signal level from Transmitter Channel 1 will change accordingly, however the signal level from Transmitter Channel 9 will not. The change in analogue gain will be compensated for by DSP to leave the resulting signal level the same as it was previously.
This is useful in situations where you don’t want the recorded volume level to change but you need to make a change midway through a performance (such as in a live situation to provide more signal to the PA).
To switch gain compensation mode on click the Setup tab in the RedNet MP8R plugin in RedNet Control and then click the "Comp" button for each input that you wish to enable gain compensation for:
